Setanta Sports (Ireland) Problem

Hi,

Ive been having problems with watching setanta sports over the last few months. The reception keeps "blocking" and freezing when I watch the 3pm EPL game. I rang Setanta and Sky and they said there is now problem at there side. I updated the software on the receiver but that didn't fix the problem. Setanta said it could be the weather, but it's doesn't affect other stations and besides it hasn't been hurricane conditions in Ireland!!
Can someone help me with this? As I don't have any problems with the reception in other channels.

Please specifically confirm you are getting Al Jazeera English and NHK World without problems.

I'll check when I get home from work. But what impact does the reception of these channels have on Setanta?
 
Same Transponder.

ie Trying to establish whether it's a frequency related problem of some sort, or something else.

Process of elimination.

Hi I just checked both channels are they are also freezing and blocking similar to Setanta Sports. So what do you recommend that I do? Really want to watch the arsenal game this saturday without this happening
 
Sounds like your dish is marginally misaligned to me.

So its just a matter of getting someone to re-align the dish then.? At what degrees should it be or will the sat engineer know that when i mention it to him.
 
Probably - although its always possible the cabling is damaged as well and theres water in the cable. If its the latter the cabling needs replacing

If you can reach the dish safely you can check the alignment by GENTLY pushing the dish in various directions - a couple of mm will probably do
