OK - loads of questions (Linux newbie)
Currently have XP as file server - wanting to switch to Linux...
Have Ubuntu setup, 2 separate hard disks (one which is out of XP machine), so is NTFS.
Do I have to set up permissions for this hard disk, it IS mounted on the Linux machine as /media/films (and then do I need those permissions to get to the HD from the DM)
On the DM - it is shown as active, but not mounted.. don't know why
should it be NFS share or CIFS?
can't see the linux machine in network browser on the DM.
any help would be appreciated
