I have just bought a cheap box for the bedroom and on setting up its telling me that the frequency is11427 @ 70% and quality is 70% but when I try a channel it says signal unsuficient, the thing it would not let me do is put my postcode in so I had to use the default, I had a non hd technomate on it before and that picked the channels up ok is this something to do with the postcode thing or a cheap box not as good at picking up signals and a dish alignment needed

What make and model is your new Freesat receiver?

Do you happen to know if it's quite an old box which has been left disconnected for a while? Have a look in the setup menu to see if there's an option to update the software.

its new its a sagem DS186 HD

Take it back and try another first. It's not uncommon for new receivers to fail out of the box. The 'freesat' receiver will look for 11.426h at start up and then proceed to installation/setup.

It is however possible, that the dish maybe slightly misaligned or a compatibility issue between the LNb and new receiver.

cheers its going back, I spoke to their tech help and its an issue with the postcode thing as it would not accept any postcodes he gave me
