Setting up Fortec Star Satellite Kit!!!

Hi There. Can anyone please help!! Just bought a Fortec Star Sat Kit from Maplins for all the free channels available. Dish is up... receiver in with scart lead and aerial lead to socket.
Also bought a satellite finder which I connected in between receiver and LNB to align everthing but not getting any life from the finder at all.
Even tried the old fashioned approach of moving it around on roof while partner tried to see if we were getting any channals.
Checked and triple checked everything nothing... no channels at all. Even by-passed the original cable with the 10m supplied out the window and up the bungalow roof straight into the LNB... still nothing.
Set the receiver to Astra 2A 2B 2C 2D which the chap in Oxford Maplins said should work.
Please can anyone HHHHHEEEELLLPPP!!!

Hi Pete, if you're not getting a peep out of the meter at all, then you may not have made the connections properly, or you may be pointing way too high, way too low, or totally in the wrong direction for satellite reception.

Not sure where you are in the UK, but for most areas the dish face will be just off vertical, you can check out the rough direction using our dishpointer tool HERE.

If you can take a couple of photos of the kit and upload them to your next post, we may be able to spot any obvious mistakes.
