My Satellite Setup
100cm Sat dish on Superior Dark Motor Metal Gear DiSEqC 1.2-1.3 USALS GotoX, connected to ground pole
My Location
UK
so i just got this motor and wondering which way the motor cables connect to the motor please? see attached picture for cable (from satellite superstore) im getting/using for motor if u can tell me what cable connects to which input on the motor (M1, M2, Sensor), unless it doesnt matter, that would be great thanks

Doesn't matter as long as it matches at both ends. M1 and M2 are motor power cables. Others are pulse. Don't get the pulse ones wrong

What motor did u get. I just see a cable lol

There should be a wiring diagram inside the motor that you can use when you remove the case cover.

Ok thanks but as i said this cable has different colour wires on it so need to know which way round they go, motor come from ebay brand new
 
Doesn't matter just make sure they match either end
 
Have you got a V-box II? This drives your motor, and connects to the 4 wires.

What gauge are the cores in the cable you plan to use?

Or some type of dual axis controller such as an RC2000 or the model produced by one of the forum members if he does the inclined orbit modification to the Moteck.

Or two Vboxes ....cheaper but more hassle

No im planning on getting one frm satellite superstore, i know i need one im getting one!! Just asking on here for advise thats all
 
I would just stick to one V Box and one motor for now, if your struggling to set that up keep it simple.

I am wondering, because of these PMs: Why not keep to the open forum for things like this?

How many people must tell him the same thing, without knowing how many others have told him the same thing already, and without knowing how many people will be contacted for the same thing?

It is my belief, that PMs are not meant for this purpose. It leads to a waste of time, because the same message is given again and again.

I believe the open forum is for things like that: sharing the information and answers with ALL members (instead of just the one person that has asked), and thus also allowing ALL members to complete and/or correct the info that is given.

Yes, he was told to use the forum by myself and others rather than using PM. Hopefully he has got the message now!

The wire colours are not that clear, but I would suspect that the Black & Red are for M1 and M2, the Grey(?) one is for the sensor and the Green/Yellow is for an Earth/Ground and sensor return.

Doesn't really matter which way the M1 & M2 are connected as one way round it drives East & then West the other way round - if that proves a problem then simply reverse them!

Wire gauge should not be an issue as even thin conductors will carry a couple of Amps, which will be more than enough for a motor for a small dish motor (think about how low a current - a few hundred milliAmps (mA) - is provided/needed to drive a DiSEqC motor!)

Um i am using the forum and ur still moaning at me!! i didnt get it explained in a way i can understand so im asking publicly !!!!

theres NO Videos on youtube of this motor/installation/setup and if there was they would be outdated/crap quality audio/video and in a different language to english without subtitles etc to understand them, and theres NO NEED TO KEEP BEING RUDE TO ME ABOUT THIS SUBJECT!!!, U SAID TO ASK I ASKED, U SAID TO LOOK IN FORUM I LOOKED, NOW IM ASKING AGAIN FOR HELP DUE TO THERE NOT BEING ANY DECENT INFO/VIDEOS DO U UNDERSTAND ME!!
