Settting up a motorised dish

Ok, what about the dish scale. Should be about 24.

Cant see the dish scale to be honest its not very clear.

You say you know where 19.2E is.

Well, why not snd the dish there using USALS, do the adjustments to get a signal. Then send the dish to 5W, it won't be far out, might even be spot on.

My dish is currently pointing at 19.2e but the motor is on 0 as i turned the dish there manually. The signal i have is L 70% and Q is 82%

Ok, put the dish back to where it should be on the motor shaft (i.e central), and then use the receiver to send the the motor/dish to 19E. Then adjust the elevation of the dish and swivel the motor around the mast to get a signal from 19.2E. Then send the dish to 5W and you should get a signal. Tweak if necessary.

Ok thanks i will try this in the morning.

Ok all i give up with motorising this dish as i just cant get the hang of it. Thank you to all that gave me advice on the subject, im going to try other avenues to pick up the satelites like maybe fixing more than 1 lnb to each dish. Thanks all

Don't give up. Personally I think setting up a motorized is easier than multi LNBs.

Your trouble is not having a proper meter. Use the squawker meter you have to find a sat near due south. Forget using the receiver for this because it obviously isn't working. Find any satellite, it doesn't matter if it is the wrong one as this can be corrected later. Once you have found a sat with the squawker do a full blind search. Once you have done this go through the the channels to make sure you are on the right sat. Even if you are not on the right sat your elevation is almost perfect now so it is just a matter of using the squawker again and nudging around a bit without changing elevation.
