hopefully this is in the correct area of the forum (I apologise in advance if it isn't)

I have a DM800HD PVR clone
Nabilosat BlackHole
CCCam 2.1.4
80cm motorised dish
15metre cable run

when I change channels, my SNR (whatever that means) fluctuates between 70 - 95%, and on certain Sly channels, the screen will pixelate for a couple of seconds, then go back to normal viewing for about 3 minutes, then ixelates for a couple of seconds again. Would / could adding a sloping 13-18db inline amp cure this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi m8..
From personal experience of in line amplifiers ..
They are only really effective on very long cable runs ..
In actual fact on a short cable run it may well be that an amp will make the situation worse ..
..for signals from sky on 28East ...the signal level is so powerful that you should not need an amp of any kind ...on a standard minidish installation ..
It is just possible you might actually be overloading the agc of tuner as the dish size of 80cm is excessive for such a powerful bird ..
Alternatively ...and more likely ..your motorised system is suffering a small degree of misalignment ...
..which would be more evident at the extremes of the arc ....say 39E or 42E ..
both of which you can check ...assuming you have clear line of sight ..
Good luck

On a card share by any chance?? That behavior is typical when the keys change on the scrambled channels

Or if none of the above....depending on channels, it could be DECT.
