OK well my suggestion for the first box is to force a software download by powering down, pressing the backup button whilst powering on again. It will take a few minutes to download the software and it may not fix whatever the problem is.

Regarding the replacement box if you connect using a scart lead I think any output will be displayed on the AV channel on your TV, but there are others on here with much more experience of digiboxes.

It sounds like your TV isn't showing anything from the new digibox, and yes, if you are using scart then switch to the AV/AUX channel on your TV.

If you are using coax (normal TV aerial cable) then you may have to retune your TV to find the new digibox. Digiboxes output their signal on a standard default channel, however either your old one, or the one you are trying now, may have been set differently at some point.

If you can, use a scart cable (better sound and picture), once you can see the picture from the digibox see if you can receive all the Sky channels.

If you have the same problem as before then the LNB on your dish may be faulty.

Yes Mike. Your card has to be 'married' to the replacement box. That will mean the suspect box is inoperable then. That's unless you increase your sub to Sky and have 'multiroom'.

However that won't solve the problem of you not seeing any picture from the digibox, as you should be able to view 'basic' channels (eg channel 4, Sky1 and all other non-'premium' channels) without re-marrying the card. And BBC/ITV should work without a card at all.

Hi,

It sounds like your default frequency on the old box has been changed. this could be due to interferance, depending on areas. where i live we have channel manchester on terestrial tv. we have to change the box from 68 to another frequency.

you will ne to change the frequency to the one of the old box.

connect the old box up. press services 4 > 0 1 > Select. go down to 3 which is RF outlets. get the 2 digit number.

Connect the new box up.

Do the same as above but do it blind.

so press services > 4 > 0 1 > select > 3 > type in the frequency from the other box. > arrow down.

Your tv should show the skybox picture.. now press arrow down again and save settings.

and your done :)

Or you could just scart it :P but for you to of not scarted it your tv might not have one or is faulty..

dont be a sky engineer >scart and scarper :)
