I need to pick someones brains, last week after another power cut on this rock in the midle of nowhere, (Lanzarote) when I tried to turn on my skybox, i got the message that no signal was being recieved. I then had the glorious pleasure of paying an engineer 40 euros to come out and look at my skybox for five minutes, click click click and it was up and running again. He did say he changed transponders to get the box to look for the listings so what Im wondering now, is how the hell he did it. I have tried to fidle about, Im a notorious fiddler, but if anyone can offer me some solutiion, I will buy them a drink if they come out here and visit. I apologise if this isnt the right place to put this, but I would do anything to keep my wallet closed :)

Go to www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk and look at the section for touring caravans in the south of Europe.

Basically the box is looking for the north beam default transponder. This is out of range for you, and you need to change to a tp on the south beam.

There is a sticky thread at the top of this section discussing default transponder possibilities, to get to the menu where you can change it, go into Service, System Setup, 01 Select.

OK, many many thanks, Im ok so far, but two questions, how do I change to a TP on the south beam, and what on earth is a sticky thread. Ok, now Im up to four beers, but much rather buy those than pay this guy 40 euros

A sticky thread is one that has been stuck to the top of a forum, if you follow my instructions above, you will see where you can change the default transponder.

Many thanks to you all, problem solved. i owe yu all a beer
