Singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty, famous for the 1978 hit Baker Street, has died.

The Scot was also a member of the band Stealers Wheel with whom he secured another huge hit in 1972 with Stuck In The Middle With You.
The song underwent a renaissance after being featured in Quentin Tarantino's hit 1992 movie Reservoir Dogs, when it was used as the audio backdrop to a gruesome scene.
Baker Street, with its haunting saxophone solo, reached number 3 in the UK charts and no 2 in the US.
Rafferty cut his teeth as a busker, and also appeared with Billy Connolly's folk group the Humblebums.

Was a big fan of his, and the two songs you mention were iconic, Baker Street probably one of my favourite songs of all time. RIP Gerry.

Yes, I heard this morning and meant to post myself - thanks Topper.

He battled against alcoholism on and off over the years and it finally claimed him at a ridiculously early age. Such a shame.

RIP Gerry.
