Size does matters. 19.2E reception results, 150cm vs. 240cm dish.

Recently I was able to compare two primefocus dishes, aimed at 19.2E.

In table below you can see the results:

the "-" sign means that signal is weak, influenced by weather.
the "+" sign means that signal is stable in snow/rain.

Results from 1M wide beam are not included, since they can be received using even 60cm dish.

Code:
Transponder	1.5m primefocus	2.4m primefocus	Beam
10832 +	1M Europe
10979 +	1KR
11303	-	+	1L
11479	-	+	1L
11597	-	+	1L
11836	-	+	1H
11954 +	1H
12032	-	+	1M Europe
12051 +	1H
12090 +	1H
12110 +	1H
12129 +	1H
12207 +	1H
12265	-	+	1H
12285	-	+	1H
12343	-	+	1H
12363	-	+	1H
12422	-	+	1H
12640	-	+	1H
12692	-	+	1H

Hope this will help someone.

Early morning scan bring in another TP - 10744 (1KR), but signal is very weak even on 2.4m (pixelation), SNR is about 4db, while on 1H transponders it's around 7db.

The amount of lockable TPs is much higher, but I just included ones that give stable reception. And strangely, level of 12148 is about 40% lower than level of 12129, for example.

The most powerful TPs are 11303 and 11597 (1L) and this is quite weird, because year ago, 12640, 12699 (1H) were the strongest ones.

Since my guess is that DoktorOfSat is talking about my tests, here are some pictures that sustain his previous post, some scanning I made a few days ago.

I agree with you friends. Size 'ain't matter. We have many problems in our common globe.
1) parasites
2) Blind spot or some places that you can't receive your desired frequency.
3) Your dish position
4) Influenced by weather
And so on.

You can't receive it 'coz of this. Move the dish you'll be able to have some but you’ll lose the other ones. That’s what I’ve learnt by experience.

Unfortunately, there are very few reports from this region about 19.2E or 28.2E reception.

The only fact that I've determined is that, when moving to east, 1H becomes stronger than 1L.

For example, if in Kuiv, Ukraine, 60cm is enough for 1L, 120cm is needed for 1H. Here - vice versa, 240cm brings in a lot from 1H, but only several TP's from 1L.

Dear Bombone, can't agree with you 'coz I've never been to Russia or Ukraine. Sorry, But you're completely right about the counties. I think it's about their positioning on the globe or depends on the aerial problems. In the region where I live, there's no mountains, nothing to bother the frequencies sent by the provider. The Arab countries usually are in the middle of the deserts, so the sky is blue and you c'n have the signals freely. That's my idea. 60cm to 90cd dish will be enough for you.
