Hi,

I would like to buy some equipment (not SKY) to enable me to watch Eurosport. I thought I had it sussed but I now understand that the Astra 19e analogue service is due to cease in the near future.

Obviously I'm going to need some sort of digital equipment but I'm completely in the dark about what to get and where to point it to.

I do have an unused SKY digital dish attached outside so I'm hoping that just needs to be pointed elsewhere.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Alan, welcome to the forum.

Eurosport analogue will cease on April 30th next year at the very latest.

Almost any cheap digital receiver (apart from a Sky box) will enable you to watch Eurosport fta on 19E in digital.

However, ES Germany digital only has the German soundtrack, and there is no guarantee if the digital service will continue in the clear long term - one major channel (MTV) has already closed its analogue service and encrypted its digital version.
