First apologize for my poor english.

I live in the Netherlands and bought a second hand Sky+ box (Pace 3000).

I am used to watch Astra 2 and Eurobird 1 channels on my other receivers. But because of my interest in English channels I bought this box to watch all the freeview channels.

But how must I install this box.

I have a card, I know how to do an new install, but it only finds some of the channels I can receive on my other free to air receivers.

What do I do wrong?

It has a card and after searching it asks for activation the card, but how must I do?


Any help (or links to other forum discussions) are welcome.

Welcome to the forum groenent

Well I would suggest that you first re-connect your existing stb and move the dish to 28.2 degrees East. Then switch off and disconnect the F connector and cable. Put the Sky + unit in its place and re-connect the F connector you should then be getting a lock on the signal. If the sky + unit has not been used for some time it may need a firmware update, you will also need to pair your card with the unit to activate the recording function.

You must be aware that this stb does not have diseqc control therefore can only work on 28.2 degrees.

First have it all connected
Remove Power Supply
With power off press and hold backup button on the front of the receiver
Reattach power supply while continuing to press the backup
3 or 4 lights illuminate on the box and a message appears on screen(only when connected with scart) that software is being updated do not disconnect power or satellite cable, you can now release the backup button
Wait 1o mins and box reboots

Thanks, I did as you mentioned and my box is updated.

But when I search I can only find channels till lower then channel 500, and for example channel five I cann´t watch.

Anyother suggestion will be welcome
 
Try leaving the card in to see if it updates to an up to date ftv card, then the channels should sort themselves out,
 
For the card to get an updated signal can take anything from a couple of minutes to 72 hours (or even longer). I take it you can get Sky News as the update of your box went successfully. Do keep in mind that your box may not be 100% up to date as the updates comes gradually and the firmware signals are sent individually. This can take months depending on what firmware you originally were on...

What is the Quality reading of signal from the LNB?

PS. You won't be able to use the plus functions without an active subscription...
 
Thanks for all the advice, (sorry for my late answer).
I was not able to try out, because of a flu.

But yesterday built up an extra dish for only astra2 and after nightly turned on i had all the stations.

The versions my receiver says now are:
- Versionnumber: 9F2023
- Operating systemversion: 1.31B02
- EPG software version: 4.20.a

Are these the latest versions?
