Has Sky made it official about the card change? I had a call today from someone who says she saw a message about a card change on her digibox. I havent been round yet and I was wondering if she was mistaken by"insert new card" or "wrong card in box" ?

I wonder if she was the first to be told ? Will find out tomorow.

If you go to channel 999, and press the red button, it will give you all the necessary information about the card change.

Thanks for the info m8, I guess many of us will have to blow the dust off the old sky box and check it out:p

When you press red on 999 you get:

"over the next few months we're replacing your sly viewing card with new ones to provide a secure service.
you will receive a replacement for each of you existing viewing cards like the one pictured here."
A plane white card with sky printed on it is pictured,

ANd i had too dust off the box and boot it to get the info :-rofl2

Does this mean the old boxes with old cards wont work? Only Ive got that basic non subscription setup in my garage - more for the radio than anything else to be fair. However when I take the card out I still get most of the radio stations so hopefully wont be a big drawback.

The boxes will still work, the card will be cancelled at some point

Does this have anything to do with the ability to run the older cards with PCMCIA modules in other set top boxes ?

Has anyone received the new cards yet?

No, have sky announced there a card swap taking place?

edit ah yes it would appear that there is info on 999 red button, but I have not seen a new card yet

Where did the other posts go?

So the new cards are white? What are these yellow ones I see on Ebay? Really old ones?

I tell you what people will buy them. I cant belive some people buy the blue cards for over 20 quid when a freesatfromsky card is under 20 quid...
