Sky channels in Madrid

My Satellite Setup
Astra 2A/2B 28.2ºE - Sky digibox Pace DS430N.
Hotbird 13ºE - Pioneer FTA receiver.

Can someone help me please?

Some months ago I was able to receive channels on 2A north beam - Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky 3, Paramount 2, Hallmark, Sci-Fi, Channel 4, Nat Geo. & some others. Now I've lost them all. :( I do get all other channels on 2B north and 2A & 2B south. :)
I have a 1,20 or 1,10cm dish (I'm not quite sure which) and an invacom 0,3dB LNB with Pace DS430N digibox and am in north Madrid (Fuencarral).
Default Transponder set as 12304H, but if I go into New Installation the box automatically switches to 11778V with message "no default transponder found". :confused: Any ideas to help me solve the problem would be greatly appreciated.
 
Did you have any bad winds around the time you lost the channels?

How long have you had the system?

Sounds like your dish could have moved very slightly taking it out of alignment.
 
Try this- In the installation menu(option 2),set the default transponder to 12207v(Sky news).Now go to option 4(manual tuning).This will be pre-set now with the same transponder.Go down to "Find channels" and press select.If it has found the 4 versions of Sky news,everything should be OK. Now,back out of "Manual tuning",and go to option 5("New installation").The first attempt to do a new installation does not give you a chance to put any transponder parameters in.It just does it.However,when it has failed its first scan,by pressing "select",you then have the options of inputting new parameters-in this case,12207v.The box should now do a successful scan,and you can "report manually"as per screen instructions.This will also update all available channels into your box.For reasons I havent been able to work out,the default parameters are NOT automatically carried over to the first"new installation"option.

PS. I personally would never consider using 12304h(channel 5) as a default transponder.Its too volatile away from the UK.Its best to use 11817v(UKTV package),or12207v for setting up with.If you can normally hear the EPG background music(whilst you are in the menus),that means that you are receiving 11778v,so your box will automatically revert back to that default transponder after a while.
 
Thanks a lot. I have followed your "instructions" using 11817V as default transponder and everything fine until I get to "report manually" - then I get a screen with the heading "Failed Installation". I thought I was going to be lucky, but I seem to be lost again.
 
Hmm-tricky one this!.The "process of elimitation" list is endless(and can be difficult) if you only have a digibox!.Polomints suggestions are but a few.Go into the LNB settings and make sure they havent altered by themselves by pressing the re-set red button and "saving".Have you got a nearby friend/neighbour with a digibox?-,if so,borrow it and try the box on your dish first.Double check the"F"connectors are good.Sounds daft-but have you tried disconnecting the box from the mains for a few minutes?.
 
There are two possible reasons for the trouble- a misaligned dish or a faulty LNB. All the missing channels are high band.
The fact that the default transponder is missing on 11778 points towards a dish alignment fault. Check the LNB is in good condition by visual inspection, as cracks caused by the hot sun are common here.
With this size dish, a Pace 430n and an Invacom the default transponder is easily receivable most of the day apart from 5pm till 8pm. You should also be receiving the vertical Astra 2D channels such as BBC1 and ITV, and BBC2 etc in the mornings if the dish is 1.2m.
Did you install the dish yourself? If not, it may have been the installer's fault, there are cowboys working here.
