sky + hard disk prob

my hard disk is playing around a bit the front and back bart of disk is ok but the middel section makes the picture jump and sound to jump about a bit
1 can i re format it?
2 could i get a replacment
3 is it the same as pc hard disk
i do have a problem as i live outside the uk thought about buying a new box but i would have probs activating it

I believe there are two ways to proceed before you have the worst-case scenario...

1. Press SERVICES - 4 - 0 - 1 - SELECT and do a system reset
2. Disconnect the power cable and then hold LEFT and RIGHT wind buttons and then plug the system back in. This is supposed to do a factory reset.

Or you could follow this advice
