Just got a nice little fault with Sky+, Its started to only let me record 1 thing at a time and i have to watch the channel im recording . I had this problem a few weeks back but unplugging the box seemed to sort this out but now doing this does not sort it.

If anyone has any dear please help only problem is i have a few films recorded that i dont really want to lose but if they have to go to fix this problem so be it.

Many thanks

Try a forced update, shouldn't affect existing recordings, but may solve the problem. Unplug at the mains, then whilst pressing the backup button on the receiver, plug the unit back in, keep the backup button depressed until all of the lights on the box come on.

When you go into the signal strength menu, does it show a good signal for the second tuner?

If there's no signal detected on the second tuner input then all receordings will take place from the first input.

If after trying the above and still doesn't work, swap the satellite feeds around and report back.

Did the forced update still got the same problem and swapped the feeds around but still the same problem. Had a look at the signal on the 2 feeds and and it says they are OK.

If it happens again you don't need to do a system reset, just a planner rebuild. This will keep all your recordings.
Planner rebuild is a housekeeping rebuild of the master directory on the hard drive.
Recording can be problematic when free space drops below 10%.
All Sky+ and HD boxes need a planner rebuild from time to time. Only boxes with few stored recordings seem to escape. This problem is more common in countries with frequent power cuts and/or poor signal at times.
