Sky HD Amstrad boxkey conundrum

Hi Folks,

Long time lurker, noob poster!

I have a working dreambox 500s / sky SD (no sharing) setup with DVBlink Tv Source, it works well enough and I love it.

My subs are:

1 * Sky SD box (as multiroom)
1 * Sky HD Amstrad box (recently replaced)

Now, I have no problem with the boxkey generation to get it working with the various plugins, CCCam / ACamd ect...

But, with my Sky HD sub, I just cant get the right boxkey generated, i'm totally stumped..

I have tried all I know, converting th EPG serial no to hex / 17 digit on sticker on bottom of box thru boxkey generator ect, still no success...

again, no card-sharing boldness, just wonderign if anyoen has ano other tips, theres a 50 euro paypal reward for fixing this, as this is now beginning to cost me quite a bit to get sorted....(need to cancel 1 sky subscription...)

some notes:

my boxkey goes into:

1. /var/tuxbox/config/newcs.xml (on dreambox)
2. /var/etc/CCcam.cfg (on dreambox)
3. C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBLogic\DVBLink2\Sources\TVSource\Plugins\smartcard.conf (PC)

I have googled my little heart out and have run out of ideas, I also have a list of boxkey's that I have tried, should someone accept the challenge;-)
 
Probably the hex conversion is wrong. How did you do it?
 
Hi Huevos!

first, i got the serial from the epg menu (10 digits), dropped the first 2 digits and converted that to hex, which resulted in 7 digits, so I added a 0 to the front to give me 8 digit boxkey.

that didnt work, so i got the 17 digit key on sticker on bottom of box and generated boxkey using:

_http://boxkey.exyucs.com/generator.php?lan=en

thats didnt work either...

any ideas?
 
Send an empty CCcam.cfg to the receiver and see if you can clear the FTV channels like Five, Fiver, Five US and Sky 3, and any contained in your family pack subscription.
 
Hi, finally got time to test this, did what you said with the empty cccam file,
then lost access to all premium channels as expected.

poped in the new cccam fiel with boxkey for HD sub card, still no go.

whats weird is that it seems ONLY the movie channels cannot be decoded, all other channels I tied worked OK. (that i tried anyway via dreambox - steanta / sky sports / nickeldoden / rte / discovery ect.... all OK)

??? gonna try factory reset the dreambox

NabiloDM500-V08-MAXVAR
CCcam (ver 2.1.2)
newCS (ver 1.6.7)

which is perfect with my sky sd sub card, should I try a different image?
 
Ok, when you load the CCcam.cfg do you still receive the channels you are getting with the empty file or do those channels stop as well?
 
just a daft question but have you checked the card entitlements?

seems strange that some of the premium channels are decoding and some arent?

if i recall, when i used the empty cccam.cfg file, I was unable to receive any channels.

agreed, strange indeed.

the card is back on the sky hd box, and all channels are working as expected, sd & hd movie channels as well.

i didn't check the entitlements when the card was in dreambox, i'll pop it in over weekend and check, but if they are working in sky box, i assume all is Ok with subscription
 
May I ask why you dropped the first two figures of the HD box serial number (from EPG) when converting to hex? Using Cccam on an OpenBox S9 here and working fine (including all premium channels subscribed to) when I used all 10 figures and converted to hex giving me an 8 figure hex number.

tried that method as well, still no go.

when i convert the 17 digit key on bottom of box using nds box key creator, i got a 8 digit hex which gives me all channels, including sports channels on my sub. (but no movie channels)

when i convert the 10 digit serial to hex, i get no sport channels, but all the other channels (no movies either)

pop the car back into the sky box, and all movie & hd channels are there no problem.

Since you can see the Sports channels you must have converted the box key correctly.

Try a full rescan of the 28°e satellite, or even better, load a latest satellites.xml into your DM500 and then do a rescan.

If still having problems give an example of a channel you can't clear. Give channel name plus all frequency details.

ok, did a full rescan, and something very strange now happening...

i just tried to view sky family (movies) and there is some movie special on for tangled, or something, and I can view that no problem,
however if I try and view any other movie channel, where the movie is already started, black screen.

seems like a PIN issue?

I did have PIN enabled on ALL movie channels before when using HDPVR & DVBlink, then had a hook script to fire out the pin when required, worked a treat

i''m guessing now these movie channels are still PIN protected somehow.

I'll put the card back into the sky box, again, to double check this, I'm sure I did disable that stuff already tho....

I don't understand all of what you have posted. Your first post says you put your boxkey into CCam.cfg yet above log has a lot of Newcamd stuff.

I now suggest that you load a new firmware into your DB500 and then load only CCcam.

ok ignore the Newcamd stuff (that was used in conjunction with dvblink Tv source...), the issue still present when just using the dreambox.

I factory reset the dreambox and entered boxkey into CCcam / newcs files.

i'm using CCcam_2.1.2 & newCS1.67 on the dreambox (NabiloDM500-V08-MAXVAR) & only trying to view the channels via the dreambox as well (SD channels)

all sport channels & all other channels are decoding OK, still no movie channels


I'll give that a go tonight tho, i'll factory reset again and just try CCcam

do you recommended any dreambox firmware / cccam versions?
 
yes, I think you should uncomplicate the setup and just run cccam 2.1.3 or newer. add your boxkey and see if the channels clear then once that is working, concentrate on newcs ect

Hi guys, tried the suggestions above.

factory reset dreambox, just loaded up cccam 2.1.3 ONLY

same problem ;-(
