Hi,
I have installed a remote control to my bedroom TV so I can change programs etc on my downstairs Sky HD box.Everthing worked ok .../then nothing!.the sky channel is still available on the bedroom TV but I cannot change the channels. It would appear the 9volt from the RF2 output of the skybox has disappeared.Cannot for the life of me find how to get it back.
Any help would be appreciated ..Thanks a Lot BILL

make sure your connections are good at each end, you can get a picture but no power, otherwise check settings on box to make sure RF2 output is switched on, it should be unless somebody has messed with settings.

Thanks for your reply Dale. Yes the connections are OK at both ends. The 9volts is not available at the RF2 output on the Sky HD box.I have searched through all the menus and settings but cannot find anything relating to the RF2 output.I can only assume it is hidden somewhere but where is a mystery to me!!

Hidden Menu:

Services > 4 > 0 > 1 > Select

Follow steps exactly, even though you might not think it'll work ..............................

If it is a HD box then the hidden menu is services 0, 0, 1, Select.
Then enter sub menu "RF OUTLETS".
turn the power supply on and make sure you save it.

Sometimes if the RF out 2 has had a short on it then the voltage is switched off and only a reboot will get it working again (make sure the short has been fixed before retrying).

Good Luck

Ah, yes.

Mea culpa.

Thank you Trigger that did the trick. Thanks everyone else for your replies

OOPS.
Sorry guys.I assumed that switching the RF2 outlet back on would cure the problem but alas no.The RF2 out was already switched on but there is no 9v DC at the outlet socket.Proving the fault is in the Sky box. I would be forever grateful for any further advice. Thanks a lot
Bill

Well if you have no 9v supply direct from RF2, then use a 9vdc power inserter, or a mains powered 2 way ir pass amplifier to provide the power.

Sorry but I am not familiar with these things.Could you perhaps elaborate and let me know where I may obtain them and I will give it a go.Thanks

Just google those phrases. :) Oh and if you go the route of the amplifier, make sure it is mains powered and not one powered by the digibox.

Sorry Rolfw.I checked the items on google but I find it all somewhat confusing.I will probabll finish up buying a new Sky Box.Maybe an unnecessary expense.Thank you for your Help
