1. How can I make the box undertake a forced download (on my old SD box it was services 401 select)

2. I have the 2 LNB feeds, but only feed 2 gives me a picture, yet both show signal on the Settings signal facility. If I disconnect feed 2 feed 1 gives "no satellite signal is being received"
yet as I say it shows good srength and quality.

3. Is it possible to force the box to use (say) feed 1 rather than feed2, or vice versa?

Forced Download on all boxes is carried out not via Service 4 > 0 > 1 (or any other combo)

The procedure is common to all Sky boxes:

Unplug from mains for ten seconds or so
Hold "Backup" on FRONT PANEL while reconnecting mains
Wait until all front panel lights come on then release Backup button
Wait ten mins or so until box puts itself into Standby (Watch TV screen also)

Be advised this procedure may not fix your problem.


Is this a Thomson box ???

Thanks. Yes, it is a Thomson
On the old SD box Services 401 select brought up "new installation" as an option.
Clicking on that effectively forced a channel scan (i.e. a download). Is it possible to replicate that on an HD box?
If I disconnect one of the 2 LNB feeds it should be possible to get a full EPG and full service on the other, or on either by appropriate
connexion of the single LNB feed.
But for some reason although I get signal shown on both feeds if I use them, on LNB Feed 1 I get no service,
I get the msg "no satellite signal being received".

'Single feed mode' setting via the installers menu.

On a Sky HD box it is services, 0, 0, 1 select.
The single feed mode option is at the bottom of that screen. Turn it on save, and the box will reboot up...make sure your cable is on input 1.

That is not a forced softwrae download.
That is a "forced" channel rescan, and different to a forced software download.
