Sky HD box with broken modem

Hi, If a Sky HD box has a broken modem, what problems will that cause. I just want the optical auido out, FTA HD & the hardrive functions. I've got a current sky STD subcription.

Shouldn't cause any propblems unless you have a multiroom subscription for which every box is required to phone home.
