Sky HD on one input

Hey,

This is my first post, so take it easy :)

My parents in-law have recently moved into flats with a communal dish. They purchased a new 40" Bravia along with a deal on a Sky HD box/subscription.

When the installer finally got round to turning up, they were told that, because there is only 1 feed from the dish, they would not be able to use the service at all. He promptly packed up his gear and buggered off with the HD box.

Now, having spoken to some colleagues at work who used to work for Sky, I've been advised that they can still watch HD and the only feature they will loose out is the ability to dual record or record 1 channel and watch another.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Are they able to just hook up Dish Input 1 and happily make use of the HD feature?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply IC.

Yeah, I tested my own Sky+ (non HD) and it worked fine on 1 channel. The outlaws had theirs installed yesterday.

i'm in the same situation, new apartment, just with 1 feed, in 2 rooms.
but i can still have HD, you just lose pvr on 2 tuners.
