Sky in 2nd room sound no picture

Will be Monte Pego on the Northern Costa Blanca
Samsung LW15N13W 13" LCD TV. Just developed fault sound OK no picture. Signal comes in via co-ax from Sky + HD box on floor above. Sky is OK on the main TV. I've tried turning off at mains and re-tuning. Could this be a fault with the co-ax? My grandson was found fiddling with the cable although there are no kinks and the cable is tight at each end. I can get the screen menu and a very fuzzy BBC1 on another channel obviously not tuned as there is just the one input.

Or is it the Thompson HD Sky+ box? I've tried co-ax out in both 1 and 2 - same result.

You will most likely be connected to the main TV via a HDMI cable but have you tried connecting the main TV using the co-axial connector RF2 and tuning it in to see if it works. This will tell you if the modulator in the $ky HD box is working. The problem is most likely to be with the LCD but...

Make sure the LCD is set to PAL I and the usual...

Thanks. I'll give that a go but will take a day or 2 as I don't have a spare coax cable. The one which goes from the sky box goes out through the wall then down and back in downstairs and is clipped in at various points.
It was working OK yesterday and nothing changed except my grandson playing with the cable.
If it is the TV would it be repairable? I hope it is the Thompson box as her hubby has buggered off with the HD DVD and cancelled the SKY HD subscription so maybe he'd take that too and get her another (all pigs cleared for take-off!!). Can you believe it he replaced the HD DVD (for little son's sake only as he buys him DVDs) with a cheapy DVD wich won't play +RW etc so we can't view stuff we do on PC. Sorry just had to rant!!!
 
If you have a video connected to the main TV, that should have a male to female coax lead which will do.

Double check on the remote TV that the region sound setting hasn't been changed on the TV from PAL I to PAL G.
 
Ah - you will lose patience with me. The main TV is a wall mounted and I don't think I can get to the coax input although I have located a spare cable. You would not believe the spaghetti on the floor. Ex sil had a complicated system with a dedicated computer for it linked to another computer as well as the HD DVD and amplifier. He's taken most of the kit but not left any details about how the remains are configured. The surround speakers are all here but useless!!
Perhaps I should look to a TV repairer after all. Sounds like the cable is not at fault. Might all have to get divied up soon anyway!
Diod you mean check the sound setting or the picture?
 
Given your wall mounted situation there's an even easier way to check if your LCD is at fault. Why not borrow a TV from elsewhere, tune the $ky channel in and see if it works.

It may only be a setting adjustment :)
