SKY+ in France

Hi all,

I have been thinking of updating to SKY+ in France. At the moment I have the 6 mixes and I'm aware of the extra costs of having SKY+ activated by either paying the extra €15 (Irish Sub) a month or upgrading to 2 premium channels.

I saw that card activation could be done via the Sky dialer outside the UK without calling SKY so, if I got a SKY+ receiver off eBay and bought the SKY Super Dialer would I still have to call sky for the activation of this service? I probably have to contact them and tell them that I want to subscribe to either the SKY+ function alone or take the 2 extra premium packages...

I guess I could call them before going to France from my Irish landline and give them the card info and SKY+ box info and that would do the trick? I take it that the mix channels would still be available on my normal digibox without any change eventhoug the SKY+ functionality has been activated until I got the SKY+ box set up?

Finally is the £99 for the sky dialer waste of money? Don't think I would use it very much for box office stuff...

I would look into using the official sky card with a dreambox.
The dreamboxes (7020S upwards) allow a harddrive to be added and you can do a hell of a lot more than using the sky+ box.

Hard work for a novice but there is a lot of help and advice on the web.
