I have a sky minidish and several lnb's , the thing is that 2 quad thomson lnbs do not work but a month ago they did and i kept them in the cupboard . I also have several receivers to test them on and nothing . I have seen them both work before but i can't remember on what receiver . Is this normal to work just with some receivers and not others ? Or are there any settings to change to make them work ?
Thanks

No, you shouldn't need to change any settings. LNBs have to survive in a harsh environment and will sometimes fail, and I'm not sure how much of the innards of a quad is common to all outputs but I wouldn't have thought all outputs would fail at the same time (but maybe?). Sky boxes aren't the best for testing with because they need to lock and get the EPG before you ge anything out of them. I have a Echostar clone and use that for any dish changes I need to make becuse it will show a picture quickly.
I find it best to only change one thng at a time or I get confuzzed!

I've had duals with just one output working .
I've also tried them with my technomate and wilst i get a reading it's not a good signal on a minidish , i would probably try them on a 60 cm but they're made for the minidish and they are new .
I thought there will be some guidelines on wich lnb's it,s best to pair with wich box , i'm sure a sky engineer will have had this problem at some point .

I know you shouldn't need to, but have you tried nudging the dish up or down to see if its an alignment problem?

The dish is spot on , on a single output lnb i get more than half strenght and quality and the other day i got very little but viewable signal of one of them quads just on 2 outputs so i think they're made for zone 2 dishes . Odd .
Or are they just busted ?

There is no difference between the Sky minidish LNBs, they will work on either standard or zone 2 minidishes.

Make sure that your F connector has enough centre core exposed, (try exposing a little more) it may be that it is not making proper contact on the quad LNBs.
