I have ordered a SKY Now Tv Box and await delivery.
Looking on-line at the spec it only has Wireless connectivity (no ethernet cable).
I want to be ready for it technically when it arrives.
Can anyone tell me what frequency/band it operates on ('B', 'G'??)
and will it work to a "Linsky WRT54GL - G Broadband Router" OK?
Thanks,
Viktor.

Looks like you are the first to venture into this Viktor, let us know what arrives, I may have a dabble myself for a tenner

these boxes can also be used to side load the plex app in developer mode so that you can run plex on any of your home pcs and access all of your local content streamed through your now tv box.

it also has the option to install the unsupported app store with apps such as 1channel and icefilms.

worth a tenner of anyones money for a cheap media streamer.

Thanks. Will do, can't go wrong for £9.99 I am having it delivered to my daughter in UK
as they don't do overseas deliveries yet; she will post it out to Cyprus.
Looks like a cheap way to upgrade the TV to a Smart TV.

I understand it is actually a ROKU LT (or should that be RAKU LT?) with the SKY logo on it.
Normal price around £100

it is bud, but you can grab them for £35 in the u.k. from currys.

bargain at £10 though as long as you have a pc that runs 24/7 so you can stream from it using plex.

the plex app streams stuff nicely over a 3g connection too so you can watch your own content on the go if thats what floats your boat!

Finally took delivery of the SKY NOW TV Box.
VERY easy to install, works by wireless to our Broadband Router.
Numerous APPs, too many to list here, but includes SKY News and BBC news, and BBCi, and Ch5 On Demand.
One day after we received it we had an email with a special offer of
6 months SKY Movies + a 1 day pass for any SKY Sports, just £14.99.
you do NOT have to be a SKY subscriber to take advantage of the box itself OR the special offer.
Highly recommend this piece of kit, which is entirely internet based
(no SKY satellite signal required).
My best buy for years!!!

Sounds pretty good, but I assume you're using it via a VPN or SmartDNS service? Keep us updated on how it goes.

Just ordered one, but a question. Do you require to set up a Now TV account for it to work for BBC iplayer etc?

Ordered one myself yesterday and from my interpretation of the blurb, I read it as needing to register before receiving anything, but may have skimmed the blurb too much

The NOW TV Box makes your TV smart. It lets you stream Internet entertainment straight to your TV, and it's simple too. Create a NOW TV account, plug it in, connect to your Wi-Fi and login. You can then start streaming the latest Sky Movies and live Sky Sports in high-quality straight to your TV. With the simple remote, just choose what you want to watch and it starts instantly.

Yes, to use the NOW TV Box for ANYTHING at all you need to register with NOW TV.
Once you have done that the APPS come up on the screen when you press the APPS button, click on BBCi, and away you go.

Mmmm perhaps this is the catch, been busy so not even opened the box until now (excuse the pun :))
the catch would seem to be you have to sign up to Sky movies when subscribing, not what I was looking for.

Nah, you can just create a now TV account without subscription and then install plex and use it as a network media player.
