WHY do the monkeys on the phones at Sky always manage to call just as dinner is being served?

The can f.r.o. if they think Im going to pay them any more money.

In the unlikely event I want the sports or movies channels then I'll call them.

The lad who phoned tonight got cut off sharpish.

"Hello Im ringing from Sky and....."

"Whatever you are offering Im not interested. Goodbye"

I've given up answering the landline phone cos of calls like those, even with the TPS thing on the line, the muppets still call saying "we can offer you this that and the other because we're cheaper than whoever you're with (and they don't know who we're with so can't guarantee they are cheaper!!!) and will give you this service if you pay us money you haven't actually got to fit it", once upon a time, the telephone was a luxury, now because of outbound call centres, it's just a damned nuisance...

Yep, we have the same thing here (and at meal times too - why?), though it's usually someone trying to get you to swap ISP. I mainly get round it by telling them I'm English and don't understand (in a really bad accent to convince them). They then apologise and ring off. Lately though one or two switch to speaking English. Maybe I should perfect a phrase or two in Lithuanian?

We had a call from them a few days ago, 'as valued long term customers' they wanted to give us something... I actually forget what it was, something like Movies for £3 a month with no contract or summat. My reply was simply so you're not actually GIVING us anything you want to take more money from us. That obviously deviated from the script sufficiently to throw her so I got a quick one in to say the next time you want to GIVE us something make sure it doesn't cost us a single penny and hung up.
