sky plus record problem

a freind has a problem with his sky plus .when he tries to watch a pre recorded program it comes up with a blue and yellow screen saying system fault please ring this number .then sky talks him through a reboot and its ok again .this has happened 6 times in the last 2 mounths .is there a reason for this or is this a common fault. the reciever is still under warranty.if u need the model i will find out tonight .

Haven't seen or heard of that fault before, if he has watched what he wants on the hard drive, he may benefit from doing a full system reset in the installers' menu, this will clear the hard drive, but has a chance of solving the problem.

If it doesn't, then tell Sky to come and pick up the box, as it is obviously faulty.

i now talked to a freind who has got the fax sheet from sky for correcting this fault .they wont give it to u on the swich board it is 4 (sky installers only) . so i will let u know the out come thanks

to correct certain faults on new sky + boxes as

stuck in standby.

unable to record.

loss or if on input 2

it is possible a factory reset process may cure the problem.

1. switch off at mains

2.hold the left and right navigation buttons .switch on the power and hold for about 30 secons until the green play light comes on.

3.press select.

4.the play light will then rotate anti clockwise while the reset procedure takes place.
this may take upto 3 min .depending on how many programes are stored on the
hard drive.

5.it then reverts to standby.

6.leave the machine for 2 mins while the hard drive refomats.

i tried it three time before i got it right .and you will lose all your recorded programes so watch them first.
