Hi
I am trying to setup my new home so that I can have the sky+HD box in either one of two locations (the box may move, but only 1 box used at any one time)
I have a twin feed from the LNB (this feed is fully working), which I have snipped half way, installed 2 satellite 'y' split adaptors and continued the existing cable to the furthest socket. I now have no signal!
If I disconnect one of the inputs and outputs from one of the splitters and join the connectors (using a f-connector coupler) I get signal on input 1. If I put these 2 cables back into the splitter, I get nothing.
Am I correct in thinking that the DC power is not passing through the splitter? (assuming this, I have tried swapping around the 2 outputs to see if one passes any power, still no joy)
If this is the case, and I can purchase a splitter with DC pass, does the sky box output DC on both aerial inputs? If not, would I need to get a splitter with DC pass on both outputs, and always ensure that this line goes to input 1 when in both positions? If not do I have a problem and will I ever get this to work?
Thanks in advance!
Darren
