Sky Sports 1 HD gone!

I've always had issues with 2A's north beam but never have had issues with 12148, H. And it's a perfect weather day today here. Really strange.

That's your problem then. It's still a strong north beam signal here in Finland.

Well, you're quite correct timo_w2s, the signal is slowly starting to come back. The strange thing still remains the fact that it's a fine clear day here today and that transponder has never given problems before. Hopefully it's a sign that 2A is finally dying!

I am in Barcelona and have lost SKY SPORTS HD1 also, is this a permanent loss? AM still reeling from losing RTE, BBC etc?

Only Sky can answer that question Diggers, but they have an almost empty tp that needs using so probably for the time being at least..

Until they are rehoused elsewhere then you are out of luck.

Unless you fancy trying successively bigger dishes (an expensive game!)

My Sky Sports 1 HD has disappeared, no satellite signal is being received, on an Irish Sky card here in Italy. Other Sports HD channels not affected. Anyone know if it's switched to a spot beam????

The Irish version of Sky Sports 1 HD is broadcasted on ASTRA 2E uk spot beam.
This is the Sky HD channel list in Ireland :

Channel number 401 is from 10.862H which is ASTRA 2E uk spot beam

A spare transponder. Disney used to be on that one - ISTR Sky paid the rental on that frequency and leased it to Disney.

Disney went widebeam at the 2E switch, and left Sky with a multi million quid per year tp empty.

There would have been merry hell to pay with expats if they had shifted SS1HD UK there! Numerically there are far less subscribers of SS1 in Ireland so the impact is less.

Or maybe they are testing the water to see what kind of uproar there would be if they decided to move all the Sky Sports HD channels onto the UK spot..... !

There's no change on SS1 HD or SD here.
