Hi, I've been happily watching Sky Sports in Latvia for two years now - buit suddenly I can't get a signal.

I gather this is probably because Sky Sports (and a lot of the other Sky channels) have moved to Astra 2F?

I read somewhere the satellilte would move soon after the change - will that mean we can pick it up again when it does, or do I need to do something else?!

Any help gratefully received!

We think they have moved to the 1N pan Europe 1 beam.

You may or may not get them bacjk when 2E is launched - but that wont be in service for another 6 months or so.

Until then you are out of luck.

Well we think they've moved to 1N Pan Euro 1 beam which is difficult to get in the Baltics and Finland. Things will probably change again later in the year when 2E is launched. None of the new satellites look very promising for your area I'm afraid.

Edit: Beaten by a few seconds!

Yes, that is recent issue we got. Depending of your location you maybe need bigger antenna. North of Riga 1,5m is almost minimum.

What size dish have you got wombat57? Looking closer at the new satellite footprints you might just be on the edge of the 2F and 2E euro beams but there may be a fast drop off the further east you go. However, until they are in use later this year we won't know for certain.

Some of the HD versions of Sky Sports are still on Astra 2A which you should be able to pick up, but we don't know for how long. It could be days or months...

2wombat57: There is one antenna for free on local classifieds. I do not know exact size, but seller says it is huge. I suspect it is not less than 150cm. With this you certanly can get your Sk* channels back.
