Sky Sports pack crippled...

I have the Sky sports pack. I get all the channels, SS1,2,3 and Skysports HD1 and Hd2. The puzzling thing is that I don't get the Sky Sports Xtra and the HD3.
For the SkySports Xtra I get a message that says I have to upgrade my subscription and for the HD3 that I have to upgrade to hd to get it.
I am a bit puzzled and I'd like to ask when you get the sports pack the channels are unlocked separately or as a whole pack?

The thing is I can't speak to them directly...
 
How big is your dish? Sky Sports Xtra is on Astra 2A North which I believe is weak in Greece. Can you see Sky Sports News? Do you have problems viewing other channels that you subscribe to??
Which decoder do you have, the Thomson HD???
Sometimes if the decoder is receiving a very weak signal you will get the 'call to subscribe' or 'this programme is not available' message even though you are subscribed.
 
I have the Thomson HD Box...
Signal was checked with a device connected to the lnb. I get the Sky Sports News and all the other skysports channels but the skysports xtra and HD3.

My dish is 124.5x133.5 gibertini OP120...
 
What happens if you go to 'add channels' and put in 12148, H???
Does your box find the channels or do you get a 'no signal' message????
 
I think I tried it and I got a message that there are no channels at that frequency. While at the 12070H it did find the Skysports Xtra.

We checked with a device connected to the lnb the signal for 12148H and there was a message no channels at that frequency found on the screen of the device.

For the 12070H the signal was ok...
 
The Sky Sports Xtra at 12070 H is for pubs only. You can not view with a normal sky sub.
The one you require is on 12148, H along with Hallmark UK, British Eurosport 2 and Comedy Central Extra to name a few.
Can you see these channels????
 
Ι added the 12148H, 2/3, 27500 and I get a left column with the following channels,
Sky Spts News
SP news
Sky Spts News
Sky Spts News
Sky Sports 1
Eurosport2 UK
Hallmark
S1 test
Sky Spts Xtra
Sky Spts Xtra
ComedyCtraIX

and there is one right column with Sky Spts Xtra only

Can I upload a screen shot?

I can see Eurosport 2 UK, Sky Sports 1, Sky sports news. The hallmark and the comedy I am not sure they are in my package but I will look for them in the tv guide of the box to see if I can get them...

Edit no2: Hallmark is not in the packages I have so I get a message that I have to upgrade my subscription to receive this channel.

Well that proves that it's not a signal problem that you have anyway. Save all the versions of Sky Sports Xtra by ticking each one with the yellow button, then press select to save them to your other channels. Now go to your 'other channels' menu and see if you can view any of them.
 
I highlighted the Sky Spts Xtra (they were listed 3 times in the add channel list) and pressed the yellow button each time (they were ticked) and then select.
I went to Other channels and I found Sky Spts Xtra 3 times.
I pressed select and I get the message "Programme synopsis is not available. Call your broadcaster to upgrade your subscription to receive this channel".

Crikey, that's weird!
I take it you've already tried re-booting the box from the mains?
Can't think of anything else right now except maybe a faulty box. Hopefully some expert can come on here and help you out!

I have already done a system reset via the hidden menu.
Is yours a different one?

When you say faulty box in what sense?

That is the message I get when I try to select the channel from the sky listings...

In any case thank you denis for your help...

I didn't really mean a system reset, just wanted you to try plugging the box out from the mains and then plug it in again. Also maybe remove the viewing card and clean the contacts.
I also have a Thomson HD with upgraded psu and a 500gb wd hard drive. But this problem you have is different to any I've seen before!
Sorry I couldn't help you bud, I really hope you find the solution. Maybe you need the activation signal re-sent from Sky?

I fear that a signal resent may be necessary. and the problem is there is no one to ask for it or manage the whole situation...
 
Well card was removed before the new card (white) got in...
How do you clean the contacts? What do you mean by cleaning the contacts?

Simply wipe a dry non magnetic cloth over the contacts on the chip to ensure no grease is stopping connection with the contact arms

Well, the card is less than one month old (came new stuck on the S k y paper) and the problem with Sky sports Xtra and hd3 was from the beginning of the pairing.
I don't think this is the problem but I will give it a try.

Why can´t you contact them? I ask as there should be a work around.

I think a refresh from sly should sort it but I have seen similar problems before and can take a few calls

I can't contact them because I am outside the UK...
