Hi there,
Before I start I'd just like to say I'm a complete novice in regard to satellite technology and I'd be grateful for any assistance.
I have been running a Sky (basic) FreeSat system with no problems for the last 2 years. The Minidish with cable was already in place from a previous occupier and I sourced a Panasonic box with remote from ebay and got a FreeSat card from Sky.
Over the last two weeks we've started to lose some channels C4, C5, Sky3 Men Motors etc, sometimes they reappear, sometimes not until the next day. Over the last couple of days we have lost signal to all channels completely to return after a few hours. I've tried when the signal was stronger, to update the software and that seems to go throught he process but when I check to see if the version has updated in the System Info Tab in Services Menu it does not show any updated version.
I have tried another Pace Skybox which does exactly the same things re both the software updates and the channel loss. Because of this I assumed it was a problem with the Grundig LNB. I have bought and been sent a new WNC single port F18 to try as a replacement. The only thing is the WNC has a 5 position mark on the body aligned with a single mark on the clamp (which the Grundig doesnt have). Does it relate to what zone you are in?
Can anyone tell me how I need to set this up, what mark should I be on? also do I need to tune the distance from the head of the LNB to the dish as it will be slightly different from the Grundig one?
Am I on the right track?
Many thanks in advance......:-worship
