Not sure about other countries but I do not believe the network infrastructure is able to cope with such a massive extra load. Whilst we can watch 2 different movies from Netflix at the same time our neighbour who is on a cheaper Virgin package finds his broadband slows down during the evening. How long before such a service rolls out to the whole country.
 
I thought they had been trying this on a limited set of guineapigs ever since they started rolling out SkyQ. It was certainly mentioned on the Sky stand at IBC a couple of years back (boxes without tuners)

Its years away for many areas in the UK.
 
Its going to be interesting when I ask for my legal requirement 10meg connection :D (Although since we moved here there has been a new BT box put in down on the main road so presumably fttc is coming to the village)
