Sky UK card not working in DM800 Card Reader

Dreambox DM800, Astra 19.2, 28.2E and Hotbird 13E

Hello friends,

I am having problem with the Sly UK card in the DM800 card reader, it dosen't recognise the card, I have Gemini 3.60, CCam 2.09 and NewCS 1.60, when I put this card in the reader I get

card reader /dev/sci0
no or unknown card inserted

the card reader recognises the gamma card however but not the S*y card, how do I get this to work in the DM800?

this is one of the reasons im holding back buying one. hopefully there will be a fix with the next version of cccam. be carefull as some have had there cards cooked!

I read on various forums that CCam 2.09 and NewCS 1.60 should work, but it dosen't indeed the Gamma card was being read with the default config file but I couldn't get any picture, so four extra lines had to be put in before I could see picture with the Gamma.

I wonder if this is the problem?
 
I have read that newcs160/cccam2.09. works, add an N line to the newsc conf file. The cccam info utility reports no card inserted because it is newcs that is reading the card and passing information through cccam.

When I get more info I will let you know.

but I did it via an XML file and not the conf file.

I need a help on this too. Because of this I thought my receiver was faulty and got it replaced. Ok, what do I exactly need to do? (blackhole nabilosat image and cccam 209)

NDS cards don't work in the DM800 under CCcam. They do work in NewCS.
An alternative is to read up about the Smargo smartreader+ . Its a USB card reader , you can plug it directly into the DM800 USB socket and insert your NDS card. There's a little setup to be done, which I'm still playing around with , but based on the info from the Germans it works great. Get it here _www.satstore.co.uk

hi thanks for your reply. I can not read anything it does nor open localy, I have my 500 as server as I can not read with 800. I have blackhole with cccam 2.0.9 any ideas?

Guys, since posting last in this thread, I've now got the NDS card running in the DM800 in CCcam using the smargo reader. Please let me know if you'd like information on how to do it.

No sorry I have never used it, look the idea of a self help forum is just that, do a search for cccam and read the many hundreds of threads that appear , there is even one on card sharing. good luck!

Yes I would like to know how and I need this for a tv cabo rom142 card.
The Dm800 does not run it on CCcam anyway even on any Dreambox but it does not run even with newcs.

It says on the newcs log that I'm overclocking it.
I tryed controling the mhz and that works for the old Rom110 cards but not for the rom142 new cards.

I wonder if the problem with your sky card was also overclocking?
Maybe this smargo reader will solve the problem with the rom142 cards.
What do you think?

i have an nds card working in a smartgo reader and cccam209 thanks to B16MCC
he has a tutorial in another forum which i'm probably not allowed to paste here.

Crossbones, yes the smargo is a USB reader, but it has a built in USB to serial converter.

Please PM me for detailed info on this.
