My Satellite Setup
Vu uno, VU Duo2, sky dish, 2 zone 2 dishes for 19.2 and 23.5. Satlink meter, rover STCeu meter. Tripod with a dish for messing around.

Hi all, didnt really know where to post this so thought here is as good a place as any.

I have a dreambox 500s and would like some picons for the sky uk package.

Does anyone know where i can get some? also what folders do they go in?

Is there a program that i can use to make them?

Any info on picons would be appreciated

thanks man, still no reply. no body use picons?? hard to believe. i just want a generic one picture, maybe one that i can create myself, to appear on my skin.

Its a little icon that gets displayed on-screen in the info bar when you have a particular channel selected.

There are quite a few available for hot bird and Astra 1, but not so much for Astra2. Not that I've come accross anyway.

the purpose/usefulness of such a thing is what exactly????
 
What sort of file are they? If JPG, try Lygsat-logo.com
 
I believe they are PNG's the purpose is nil apart from looking pretty! I have found picons but i am not to sure how to import them on a 500s. does anyone know what folder they should go in?
 
Looking at the addons list for picons it looks there are versions for HDD, CF and USB.

The HDD version is stored in /hdd/picons.

As a 500s has none of these so you could try /var/picons

You could make your own in an icon maker or software like PhotoShop or Gimp and save as a. png The size seems to be 70 x 53 pixels.
 
I know picons are widely used with PLi, and are fully integrated in the PLi screen interfaces. PLi has several picon lists you can download as addons.
so if you're using PLi : check the addons
else : install a copy of PLi in multi-boot, download the picons & copy them to your usual image.
 
Thanks very much. I dont think there is a multiboot option in the 500? i have looked at the picons in the pli image but they are all italian and french, i only really want some sky uk. thanks for all your help anyway.
