just got amstrad, and setting up. beginner.
My Location

anyone know how to pair a card from a pace box to an amstrad, to get ch4 & ch5? sky wont help as it is second hand.
 
You don't need it paired for those channels, just pop it in the other box and it will work.
 
If the card has been out of a Digibox for over a month then it will need awakening again. Simply leave it in the working Digibox for a while, usually overnight, so that it can get its "stay alive" signal.
 
i have left box on for days, but if i go into system it says no card.
 
If it says no card, then you either have the card in upside down, the card is knackered, or the card reader is knackered.

To eliminate the first from the list is easy, to eliminate the second you can check the card in a friend's digibox, if it works there, then number three is the case and you need to buy a new digibox.
 
And remember that if the box has come from ebay then chances are it will have the wrong defaults on it for BBC 1 & ITV1.
 
The box's card reader it's busted , so i'm afraid you need another box to view the channels that require a card .

is it also posible,to reaktivate a sky hd card,after no long of use,over channel 5?

i have at the moment thomson reveiver,and channel 4 5 card,and think about it to buy sky hd,when i found i cheap dealer on the net,i dont want to buy expensice sky hd reveiver, some nds cam supportet on ebay,like dragon cam,or also the openbox does,but no upgrade,in this kind of cams,now the question,is it posible,to get the upgrade over all channels,inclufing hd channels on sky hd card ,or not?
if so,i could use my ,homecast hs 5101 reveiver?
but,when the upgrade,would not work,what i dont know,then,i must,buy,the expensice,sky digibox...
 
AFAIK there is no difference with a $ly card for HD, it's just a matter of what you pay as to what level it's activated to.

I know that Dragon cams can emulate NDS for SD but I don't know if they'll work for HD. Don't forget that even if it does work for HD then, as the Dragon won't keep the card "alive", you'll have to return it to a proper Digibox to be revived every 4 - 6 weeks.

I strongly suspect that the easiest option in the end will be to get the correct $ly HD box.
