The last three or so days I have found that my Skype visibility has changed from 'online' to 'invisible' without me requesting it does so.

Unfortunately I do not know if an upgrade may have been behind it since it was on 'autoupdate' by default.

Currently 7.30.0.105, running on Win 8.1 machine. Anti virus and spyware up to date.

Anyone else had this ?

I've no idea what mine was set at to see if it's changed. Not a great user of Skype - I frequently have to reactivate my credit.

You can change your visibility by moving the mouse pointer over the Skype symbol at the the bottom of the screen then select from the 4 options.

I understand how to change the status, but the status is changing without my intervention

Very strange ?

Alternatively when you open Skype move the mouse pointer to your status at the top left hand corner then change using the left mouse button then save your settings.

You have the latest version I just checked & mine is the same.

Best to use it infrequently then that way you have forgotten what status you left it in and you change it to what you want:cool:, Alzheimer rules OK

Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
It's best to change your Skype password as I have seen Skype accounts hacked by using a weak password.

I had one customer's Skype hacked into, one day she saw that her laptop was on the Skype page and the camera was active, she knew enough to close the lid (built in camera) and call me, we had to change the password and I covered the built in camera with a small piece of black electrical tape, as someone was actually spying on her, then installed a USB external camera for her as she did not want this to happen again, all she does now is plug the external camera in when she wants to use Skype.

If you think your Skype password (or any other password) is too weak or don't know if it is, then try the site below, it will tell you how long it would take a hacker to bust your password.
