Sling Media in their wisdom has set a 2 year sunset for Slingboxes.



I would like to stream my cable TV to my phone. currently has RCA out as the HDMI is encrypted.



anyone suggest a good alternative?



or

anyone smart enough to setup a slingbox without the sling media servers (when they get unplugged)?

I still use one of these, only used it for terrestrial, but has an AV input and IR sender output, so assume it can be used with a cable box. Hauppauge | Broadway Having said that, I remember using my Virgin TV Control phone app to change the channel and it isn't geo locked.

If you want to give it a try, you need to download the TV Centre app and I'll give you a link to mine.

I have contacted Hauppauge with some technical questions.
couple of questions for you Rolfw

What is the broadcast quality like? I have 25Mpbs upload
is there a Iphone app or do you have to use Safari\Chrome?
is it easy to navigate and change channels?
I googled TV centre but didn't find the app you mentioned, do you have a URL?

Try Wintv extend, it's a little bit basic on the iphone, but does work, I can message you a link to my server and you can test. It will work with any flash enabled browser, but they are thin on the ground. Hauppauge | WinTV Extend

Below is the browser version on my TV, but no flash extension for the picture.:)

It does have a PM feature but not with only four posts to your credit, this is to stop existing members being spammed by new members.
