Small Fan included with DM800

My Satellite Setup
1.1m Triax dish, TM2300 motor. 2 x DM800HD, 1 DM500, 2 x Sly HD. 1 60cm fixed (Astra 2D).

I have just taken delivery of my new DM800. I notice in the box there is, included, a small fan and connector. To me it kinda looks like a laptop fan. Anyway, does anyone know if this is a spare or am I supposed to fit this to the board? And why?

The 800 has a tendancy to run hot,especially when there is a HDD installed...my advice is to connect it or if you have a laptop cooler place it on top of that...Is it a clone or an original? I think the clones are more prone to overheating..

Clones get very hot, as do originals.
Small fan is loud as washing mashine spin.
Better idea is to get HDD coller and fit it on top of box.
That way you can cool tunner and HDD at same time.

Mine box runs ice cool with HDD cooler.
 
I use a laptop cooler...sit the 800 on top and it does the job perfect...quiet too

Laptop cooling pads can be picked up for around £7 and just use USB at the back to cool the DM800 Down, then you can unplug the really annoying small fan and start to use only the Silent cooling pad.
