Guys, I have followed the B16MCC Smargo tutorial exactly. I have modified the bootup with DCC and restarted. I have used the B16MCC config creator to generated CCCAM.cfg. I've plugged the Smargo into usb0 of the DM800 and gone into the device manager on my Nabilo 0.11. But it does not detect the Smargo. I get USB not found. When I plug a USB memory stick into usb0 it is detected. I do not have a card in the Smargo but I would expect that this is not necessary for the system to detect the Smargo. Anyone any idea what I can try

Have you set the Smargo to 'Dreambox Kernel' ?
What are you looking at to determine if the device has been detected ?
Use the dmesg command in telnet and it will tell you if it can see the device.

Bare in mind the tutorial is quite old now and BH0.11 may not need the bootup mod as mentioned. Check with nabilo for that.

Dreambox kernel set. With the windows driver the device is recognized on my laptop. I have one green light on the smargo. When I plug it into the dm800 I get the same green light. When I type dmesg I get a load of information that goes outside the buffer limits of my command console prompt. I see nothing in the information that I can see that indicates the Smargo. Is there any way to break the dmesg information so I can see the start of the printout. Thanks

not sure about that. Try typing dmesg from a fresh reboot and use Putty as your terminal.

Ok, i downloaded putty. I also put a USB memory stick in USB1. The dmesg shows the memory stick but refuses to show the smargo. Now I wonder if I have been a bit of a cheapskate. I bought the Smargo from another site (where I bought my DM800 from, I didn't know when I bought what a clone or the real thing was). Is it possible that the Smargo they offer for 25 sterling is not the real deal

Is there mention of card reading issues with Nabilo 0.11. Are there FTDI kernel drivers required to make the Smargo visible

Reason for this it seems is because the kernel for the BL69 Nabilo 0.11 image does not support the Smargo smart card reader. Seems that this is included with Bl72 Nabilo 0.12 but sadly it looks like I'm going to have to use the internal reader for what I require. Thankfully I don't have internal hard disk and I've had to remove the back plate of the DM800 because the plate was not dimensioned to allow swap of DVB-T and DVB-S tuners, ie. the holes in the plate are in different positions. So there should be enough circulation within the unit. Thanks for the help
