Murcia - Costa Blanca.
I have setup a VPN internet connection with a DLink DI-524.
I have setup a Home Network connection between the LG Smart TV and the PC and can share and play PC content on the TV.
I can use the VPN to navigate and play the iplayer on the PC.
The Smart TV is UK configured and has the iplayer app.
How can I view the Iplayer content without getting a Geo-location error please?

Yes. I have setup the VPN to UK. Works fine on the PC but not on the TV.

Sounds like the tv is the wrong side of the "gateway"

The vpn needs to be set up on your gateway to the outside world - probably your router rather than the pc.

Its setup on the PC but also on the router.

Played around with this yesterday and have now resolved it. It came down to something as simple as entering the wrong IP address. Works fine now.

Indeed. What I did not realise is that because both PC and TV are running off the router, any time I am on line the VPN is active. I am not completely sure this is a good thing but time will sway me one way or the other. I may try to institute an off switch somewhere, somehow.

I´ve had a few people ask me to explain the steps I have taken.
All this on the LG Smart TV of course.
In Settings:
The country for Smart TV content has to be changed to UK.
Do not change the country in Content or you will loose your local channels. Just change the Smart TV Content.
Go to the Network tag
Go to network connection,
Start connection
Choose other network list
Set expert, wired or wireless, DNS mode, manual input
Type in your DNS
Click OK.
You will of course need to have running a VPN within a VPN able router. Something like Dlink DIR-100, DLink DI-524, Sitecom WL183, WRT 54GL.
VPN? well there are many like VPNUK and viewtvabroad.
I hope this helps.
