smartreader+ and dm800

hello all , i am trying to get my smartreader workin with my dm 800 i have a new nds 3 card and nds 2 card but it does not come on with either of them , i have set to dreambox in smartreader.exe and saved , but does the light stay on when inserted in back of dm?? on mine when i first plug in light comes on then goes off, also is it better to activate card or leave open?? and should it work on cccam 2.1.1 or cccam with new cs 166??

sorry for alll questions but bin on it all day today an am a bitt pissed off, done loads of sercin the web but still no joy with mine.
