oooh, I had a nice surprise at 4am this morning, it was all white and fluffy, and falling from the sky, yet others find it so difficult to get on with it around, even if it is a tiny amount, it makes me think that people should spend a winter in northern Canada to experience life under Feet of snow, rather than an inch or two... :p

Anyway, I did this video this morning, cos I'm in a wrong-way round sleeping pattern... :)

Yup, sure do.

Here in Wirral we are protected from rain and sbow by the mountains in Wales and the Pennines. As a result we seldom get very severe weather here.

However I do remember that back then the fields near me were covered in snow. I was walking across one of these fields and suddenly fell in right up to my head where the snow had drifted across a ditch! The ponds were also frozen solid and we were able to walk with impunity on them.

On the downside, the trains carrying my comics from London were unable to get through and I had to do without them for, it seemed, weeks and weeks!

Hey, just played your clip and it's pretty good. Have a house point 2cv.

(What would the advertising world do without Moby, eh?)

Yes I do and I was staying with my grandparents in Padiham for a couple of weeks, my grandfather took me up Sabden walking and I can remember him taking photograph on his box brownie of me standing like a footballer but instead of my foot on a ball it was on a bus stop which showed that the depth of snow on that country lane was at least 8 feet deep and was there for weeks.

Today took me 1 hour 45 minutes to travel 31 miles to work, what a joke, 200 schools closed were the trains running?

I'd like to see that photo, the only one like it I've seen was from Wheatley Hill in Co. Durham where my Dad & grandma live, and it showed snow past the tops of doors, now that is what I call winter!!! :D

Snow is good :)

Up here we have a very dark time now, from november and up to march (even if it gets lighter day by day from Dec 20) so the snow helps brighten up the days and evenings.

Of course You don´t need 2 meters of it:-rofl2

Last year we only had a few centimeters and this year looks like last year so far.

I can live without snow

Beginning to sound a bit like the Hovis ad..sorry!...we didn't often get serious snow in Blackpool, but I remember it being knee deep (for a 10 year old). Nice video though

The best thing about fresh snow is putting your foot prints in it before any one else does.

There are car tyre tracks running along the path today, someone's been going offroad illegally today, it seems some people will do anything to get their car out when there's just a little snow on the roads...

The tracks will probably be covered up by tomorrow, up to 8" of snow expected overnight in this area

Maybe, but the camera doesn't lie, I have been out to photograph them to send to the council, it's about time they put up a fence to make that bollard useful, so I'm sending a complaint to them about it... :D

This is where I played today (although it was more frosty ice than snow; still bloody cold).
