Being a bit bored I decided to push Carl out to the extreme East ..beyond the wall ..and to the left of the troublesome tree whilst it is still without leaf ..
roughly 68 East ? but unsure exactly where ..All I know for sure is that I'm way past 53 East
Found some very strong test carriers at 10907 ,11252 and 11284 H ...
What is testing in this area ?
Express AT1 maybe ??

Hmmm, cant think what you might have , nothing on Lyngsat to tally there VS. I cant get round that far due to next doors bungalow.

Well They really are there ...but of course ..
being relatively low elevation ..I suppose the carriers _could_ be terrestrial ..ie wireless router signals ??
But ..they are constant and strong ..and can find no other signals to use as a point of reference..
I'm assuming 68 East-ish ..simply by sending Carl to 53 East (Grozny) ..then pulse counting on the G-box ..
Assuming 10 clicks per degree ..I can only estimate I'm in the 65 to 68 East area ..
perhaps someone else can check ?

Assuming 10 clicks per degree ?, what is your setup with actuator please VS, I would be at 57E with around 10 clicks from 53E:(.

Not an actuator Martin ..H180 motor on Carl...
10 per degree is about right ..as the H180 is fairly linear ..

Ha yes VS, I am trying to get to remember who's who, I love fine tuning with my 1mtrs, but the 1.2 always pulls better signals, I will have to look into making something work on the 1.8 for fine tuning when I have sorted the mount:-lol.

Ok ..I think the mystery might be solved ..
Amos 4 is testing and loaded with test carriers according to Flysat (65 East)
I suspect that is what I'm looking at ..

Well ..it just goes to show just how strong these test carriers are ..
Still visible boxed in yellow whilst moved off target one degree ..
the small grouping boxed in red are the russian transponders from Intel 17 ..
occasionally lockable like Mir on the the TD88 (Dick)..but not even close to lock on Carl ...
