This week-end a new virus called Sobig.B started spreading on the internet. The new virus poses as a message from Microsoft coming from support@microsoft.com. The virus has been very active in Australia and now it is spreading throughout the world.

The virus comes with one of the following subjects:
- Your details
- Approved (Ref: 38446-263)
- Re: Approved (Ref: 3394-65467)
- Your password
- Re: My details
- Screensaver
- Cool screensaver
- Re: Movie
- Re: My application

And has one of the following attachments:
- your_details.pif
- ref-394755.pif
- approved.pif
- password.pif
- doc_details.pif
- screen_temp.pif
- screen_doc.pif
- movie28.pif
- application.pif

Sobig.B, or Mankx as Symantec calls it, is spreading via e-mail and no serious payload has been identified so far. Mass mailing is therefore the only payload.

Hello All

I received it this morning.

Fortunately I deleted it without opening the file that came with it.

The file was called 'password.pif'
