Some HD Linux based receiver recommendations please

Having received a lesson in HD from my mother in law of all people, my original plan of a dm500 has been superceded some.

So I would like a cheap HD (component, dvi or hdmi) Linux based receiver that I could connect an existing USB or Sata drive to.

I like the idea of the dm500hd without the cost.
 
Define your understanding of cheap!
 
Depends on what you want to do with it, none of them are cheap, but some are less expensive than others. :) There are also non Linux receivers which offer USB recording capability.
 
Ok, I was intending cheaper than the £188 I've seen for a DM800 - however in the meantime I've picked up what I believe to be a Darkbox GDS for a lot less money off eBay.

Is there a specific section on the forum for these or anyone got any suggestions.
