I can remember back in 2004 I was up in Morpeth near to Acklington Prison and in the summer Dutch terrestrial TV wiped out all 5 channels on UHF

There was a kids channel similar to Cartoon Network(or it was a channel showing kids shows at the time), NoordTV was booming in and I think Nederland 1 might have come through too amongst others

If I had the room for a big Yagi and rotor I'd try my hand at Euro-DTT Dx

You'd need one 'ell of a leaky feeder to DX cable TV?

It's all a bit of a dying hobby these days with all of Europe switching off Analogue although the Middle East, Africa and South America will continue for the foreseeable future. I've had pictures from all these before. CJ, yes Russia is quite a regular catch, both RTR and Pervy Kanal although the most common channel is blocked by baby monitors, I use a notch filter to remove a lot of it but it's so close there's still a lot of attenuation. I stopped UHF DXing a few years ago now, the invisible wall of DTT noise spoiled all the good stuff, I used to use four x four element Triax grids and it was quite easy to get Tyne Tees on ch29. French, Dutch and Belgium were also on tap, either on B3 or UHF. Happy days :)

If I lived somewhere that had a flat horizon to the east I'd be tempted to diplex in something, as it is I use one of my remaining grids pointing south for French TNT.

Tyne Tees on CH29 operated from Bilsdale. I know because that is our transmitter!

I once received Tyne Tees from Bilsdale in a caravan in Scunthorpe on a black and white TV using the tried and tested metal coat hanger antenna arrangement :-rofl2
