Some Sky Sports coming to the basic Sky UK package

For the first time, millions more Sky customers will be able to watch a mix of live sport - including football, golf from Europe and the US, international cricket and much more - as part of their basic subscription packages.

From the launch this summer, viewers can look forward to regular live football from competitions including La Liga, MLS, FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers, as well as a select number of Premier League and Football League matches.

Sounds like a taster channel to me, probably wont be long before it forms part of the Sky Sports package.

Wouldn't be the first time Sky have done that. Either that or its a pathetic attempt to get people to sub to Sky Sports.

The latter - and the launch is about the same time as the annual price rises, so this year the letters to basic subs customers will be saying - look how we have enhanced your viewing experience with the sport, thats another three quid please *
