some vu duo questions

Im think about getting one of these but i have a few questions??

i have setup dreambox 500s boxes in the past using dreambox control centre.

Will a duo setup be similar? Does it have a control centre?

with the twin tuners will I need 2 clines or will one work both?

how good are the epgs?

Can you do things like series record?

what other facilities can be used on it, youtube? iplayer?

VU+ Duo is far better than the DM500, but there are significant changes from enigma1 to enigma2 to absorb.

There is a VuCC that does the same, but I managed with all the old Dreambox tools as I was familiar with them. What do you mean by line ? - If you mean LNB inputs you need two separate LUB inputs to get the best out of this receiver. If you mean cs lines, one line will feed both tuners automatically.

The EPG is far better than the DM500 and much more reliable. If there is a series record I have not found it yet. Don't know about the extras.

If you set a timer from the EPG you can tell it to repeat itself (daily, weekly, mon-fri, user defined, etc.).

Jordie, all the stuff you are asking is based on the image. Vix does all that stuff and the EPG is excellent. How accurate the EPG is though is based on the source, and has nothing to do with either the image or the receiver.

i have vix working with all the epg and have been able to series link etc, so now that i have the basics, what else should i try?

So many to choose from, all up to date.

I tend to mix and match with various channels settings using DBEdit.
